Abstract

In the contemporary digital age, visual thinking significantly enhances effective
information transmission and user interaction experiences in interface design. Although
previous studies have discussed the role of visual thinking, there is a lack of in-depth
analysis on its cross-cultural application. This paper fills this gap by comparing the
differences in the application of visual thinking between international contexts and the
Chinese region. Utilizing scientometric methods and CiteSpace software, this study
focuses on the impact of visual thinking in promoting user empowerment,
interdisciplinary cooperation, and innovation in interface design. The research findings
reveal that visual thinking exhibits distinct application characteristics across different
cultural backgrounds, particularly in enhancing user experience, fostering social
participation, and generating innovative design solutions. The analysis not only
highlights the pivotal role of visual thinking in the innovation of interface design but
also provides new directions for exploring its application in a globalized context and its
impact on design education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
